How does Playlist Piano work?

At Playlist Piano, your favorite songs are the lesson plan. Click on “Start Here –Free Trial” above to select the song you want to learn first. Songs can be learned in any order and you only learn the songs you want to play. After you select your song, you’ll check to make sure your equipment is set up correctly and take the quick introductory lesson “The Three Things You Need to Know to Get Started.” Then you’ll start learning your song. In just a few hours, the time it takes most of our students can master the Beginner level of their first song, you’ll find yourself playing the piano.

How does Playlist Piano make it easy to play piano?

Playlist Piano was developed based on the latest research into the science of learning and contains a number of innovations that make it easy to play piano even for someone with no experience. How soon will I be playing the piano?

You’ll be playing the piano right away. Within 20 to 30 minutes of signing up, you’ll start learning your first song and if you are like most students, you’ll be able to master the beginner level of it in just a few hours.

Will I learn How to Play a Piano using your program?

With Playlist Piano, you really can learn to play piano online. With our program, you’ll learn the same skills you would with a traditional program. However rather than waiting months to play your favorite songs, at Playlist Piano, your favorite songs are the lesson plan so you’ll start playing them on Day One.

How does PlaylistPiano.com compare to a Play Piano DVD or Play Piano Book?

We’ll take this question in two parts. First, we don’t recommend that you try to learn using a Play Piano Book.  It is extremely difficult to learn piano by just reading a Play Piano Book. You need to combine visuals, audio, movies and other learning material – the types of materials Playlist Piano provides in all of its lessons . Some sites promise that I will learn to play piano in a flash. Is that realistic?

There are a lot of sites and programs out there that promise you will learn to play piano in a flash. What you need to ask yourself is whether they will  teach you how to play a piano . Many of them use  gimmicks or shortcuts that allow you to press a few keys and play something that sounds okay, but don’t really teach you any of the skills for how to play a piano.

Why can’t I learn how to play piano by ear?

Learning how to play piano by ear simply means that you can listen to a song and through trial and error, figure out which keys to press in order to play it. In fact, anyone can learn how to play piano by ear. The real question is whether learning how to play piano by ear is the best method for you. Different people have different learning styles. There are a small number of people out there who find it easy to listen to a song and find the right keys on the piano. For most people just trying to play by ear is more challenging, they need a combination of pictures, audio, and video to learn. The important thing to remember is that playing piano is not about talent, it is about having the right method for you. With the right method, you can play piano just as well if not better than the people who learn how to play piano by ear.

Is it possible to teach yourself to play piano?

It is possible to teach yourself to play piano, but there are many programs that don’t live up to their promises. What is different about your program than others that claim they are “Beginner Piano for Adults?”

There are many choices for adults who want to play piano. There are piano lessons for adults, piano books for adults, etc.  The question to ask is, “Are they just programs that try to teach adults the same way they teach to kids, or were they designed from the ground up for adult piano?

With traditional music instruction, which was designed for children, you learn the three major components of learning an instrument – music theory, reading music, and playing skills – all at about the same pace. That is fine for kids since they advance on all three of those dimensions at about the rate. However, adults and older teens have a lot more dexterity on the piano. Adults and teens are capable of advancing their playing technique a lot faster than the other two components and become frustrated because they want to play songs rather than just build skills for months on end. Playlist Piano was designed to let adult’s piano technique advance quickly so they can play piano songs right away. While you are playing piano songs you love, your music theory and music reading skills develop at their own pace.
